Chapter Four - Wine reference

Roederer Sparkling Wine, Napa Valley

Who cares if it's not grown in Champagne, France?  Bristling, crisp bubbly by any name is still a girl's best friend.

For me as the author this was a reasonably difficult chapter to write, even though it doesn't state that explicitly, Grace (our heroine) is pretty much at her lowest. She has a demeaning conversation with her husband and then reacts by rushing off to the secret camp her best friend, Brett, recommended without really thinking it through fully. So Grace is most definitely not feeling good about herself.

Hence, the juxtaposition of such a fine champagne, Roederer, felt real. Why? Because sometimes when we're at our lowest we can have a bit of bubbly to bring ourselves up.
